Why was Johnny LEFT BEHIND by the Establishment’s Presidential Rapture?

Here is the Correct Answer  our Theory: Johnny blew it in the BP Questionaire . . . he sounded more like an Independent-Fundamental Baptist, rather than a Southern Baptist.

Let us explain what happened:

Notice this choice morsel of Johnny’s answer to Question #2 of the BP Questionaire:

2) If you are elected, what would be your priority message for Southern Baptists?  . . .  I feel that the message of the Cooperative Program has spoken louder than the message of the Gospel . . . 

Johnny’s statement may be true and sincere . . . BUT . . . it was not the choice statement to make in seeking to obtain the SBC presidential crown! Also, Johnny’s statement may have drawn AMENS from the local pastors’ conference near Woodstock . . . but it went over like a lead balloon with the Establishment!

This time, Johnny has shot himself in the foot . . . we have live footage:

Here’s what went wrong:

Johnny forgot that he was responding to Will Hall, Editor of Baptist Press . . . he got his interviews mixed up and he thought he was responding to the Shelton Smith, Editor of the Sword of the Lord. This is the same rhetoric that you hear from an Independent/Fundamental/Rapture-Ready/1611 KJV-Totin’/Buzz-Cut Wearin’/ Holy . . . uh . . . grunt .  . . uh . . . screamin’ Baptist pastor who seeks to hijack the little SBC church he pastors, and make it Independent/Fundamental Baptist.  [HT: hottub]
