HYPER-CALVINIST $100.00 ‘Put Up or Shut Up’ CHALLENGE
I’m so Hyper-Hysterical about this news . . . I hardly know where to begin!
There is a group of Calvinist-Bashing pastors in South Carolina who broadbrush evangelical 5-Point Calvinists as being HYPER-CALVINISTS! . . . HOGWASH!
EVERY Calvinistic pastor I know in South Carolina (whom I can count on one hand) loves telling people about Jesus!
HYPER-CALVINIST: one who does not believe in calling all men to come to Christ to be saved from their sins.
My Calvinistic Hero in the Ministry (and soon-to-be blogging mentor), Dr. Bill ‘hottub‘ Poore stated: If one believes that Christ Jesus will save anyone, anywhere, anytime, if they will repent of sin and trust Christ as Saviour and Lord . . . does that make him a Hyper-Calvinist or just a plain old Calvinist like the Apostle John?
Here is my statement:
I, along with every other Calvinistic SCBC (South Carolina Baptist Convention) pastor, believe that Christ Jesus will save anyone, anywhere, anytime, if they will repent of sin and trust Christ as Savior and Lord . . . does that make me a Hyper-Calvinist or just a plain old Calvinist like the Apostle John?
Calvinist-Bashers, Who are these HYPER-CALVINISTIC pastors? Do they have names? Is there any proof?
I challenge ANYBODY to find a HYPER-CALVINISTIC SBC Pastor in South Carolina and give me his name with verified information* and I will give him a $100.00 BILL . . . a cool crisp Benjamin Franklin!
(Update: hottub has matched my $100.00 challenge. Therefore, the challenge has increased to $200.00)
To all my Calvinist-Bashing brethren: I beg you, please put up or shut up!
HYPER-EXCITED ABOUT SHARING THE GOSPEL . . . AND CALLING OUT TO WHOSOEVER WILL,
chadwick
*Stipulation: The HYPER-CALVINISTIC PASTOR MUST SERVE A SCBC CHURCH IN GOOD STANDINGS WITH THE SBC AND SCBC.

Chadwick,
As Todd Morris would say, will”teh(sic) news that the Calvinists are coming lead to more character assis-inations(sic)?

hottub,
The world-wide-web has leveled the playing field. It is an open-forum for dealing with the FACTS . . . ANYONE can read and comment, rebuke and correct. The days of phone calls and “special meetings” of smear-tactics of “character-assisination” being effective are over with.
It used to be, a Calvinist-Basher would say to his circle of friends “Boys, we need to pray for ole’ Chadwick and ‘Pit Bill;’ they are Hyper-Calvinists!” NO ONE would ever ask the Calvinist Basher if he could validate his statement.
Yet, thanks to the internet, any claim that ANYONE makes can be openly challenged . . . you either have to support your claims with facts or admit that you are “assisinating” another man’s character . . . or shut up!
I’m sure the Calvinist-Bashers will be sharing “special concerns of prayer” in their support (bash?) groups for those mean old Calvinists, Chadwick and “Pit Bill.”

I preached in 3 meetings for Dwight Moody Easler and he gave “old fashioned”altar calls nightly.

I just came from the Building Bridges conference about Calvinism and I can say everyone treated everyone else with dignity and respect, whether Calvinists or non-Calvinists. Also, the research presented by Ed Stetzer shows that the baptism ratio at both Calvinist and Non-Calvinist churches is the same. Those who decry Calvinism as anti-missions or less evangelistic don’t know what they’re talking about.

Tally Ho Les! I am glad you recieved respect. Unlike this webblog and others who defame someone because of their middle name. I think Hottub needs to be in the old fashioned altar!
Don’t tell too many people you went to the conference as a calvinist. The BPress will make it sound like you are part of a terrorist organization. At the least they will say even though you baptize just as many as others you pastor a small church that only baptizes a few people.
