A Tribute To Brother Todd Edmiston

Brother Todd & Me

Brother Todd Edmiston, a dear friend of mine, went on to be with the Lord on February 2nd. He preached the fall revival, this past October, for my church . . . my church was highly impacted by Todd that week.

I also had the opportunity to talk with Todd till the “wee hours of the morning” every night he was with us (we had some wonderful talks which are etched into my mind forever). Todd shared with me about his new “sermon series” about Uriah the Hittite he was working on. I received much insight from Todd concerning the life of Uriah; I told him not to be surprised if I preached “his” series before he did:).

It seemed to me that, even in October, Todd knew that he was dying (he shared with me that he knew somthing was wrong with his body; this was before he had his heart tested). Todd shared with me that, at times, he felt like he was going to die and said that made him examine his heart, his motives, and his actions, in a way that he had never done before. Todd also shared with me that the reality of death takes on a totally new meaning when it becomes a reality in your own life.

Todd trusted solely and entirely in God’s sovereignty; that is what got him through the difficult times.

I last talked with Todd about 3 weeks ago. I could read between the lines that his life on this earth was coming to a close. Yet he had a peace in his heart that no matter when he would breathe his last breath, he was ready to meet the Lord.

Todd told me that he had benefitted greatly (from a spiritual aspect) from his health problems; they caused him to draw closer to the Lord and enabled him to evaluate every aspect of his life and not take one day for granted.

Todd Edmiston will surely be missed!
Brother Todd was an extraordinary communicator . . . he could even keep the attention of six year-old children who listened to him preach (ask Gracie, my daughter and her friend, Laykin); Todd could really grab & captivate his audience. Todd’s Fall Revival Sermons are on my church’s website:

    Chadwick,Death for Todd is spelled:
D-ELIVERANCE from a sinful world and a sick body.
    E-TERNITY.TIME IS NO MORE.
A-CCEPTANCE.GOD OPENED TODD’S HEART AND HE RECEIVED CHRIST.
T-RIUMPH-THE BATTLE IS OVER.THE VICTORY IS WON.
    H-EAVEN-ALL TEARS WIPED AWAY.

Death for Todd and all believers is not the end but the beginning.God in his providence allowed your path to cross with Todd’s andyou are a better man for it.
